People Power Beer project, launched on the Fourth of July, and continuing through Election Day, November 6th, involves more than 65 breweries. They have all have signed up to create a beer called People Power and donate 10% of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union’s People Power campaign.
From the People Power Beer pledge:
Our brewery pledges to support the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) by bolstering their grassroots People Power initiative to champion voting rights. This program is designed to empower people with the tools and capacity to organize locally to protest grave threats to our civil liberties. We will show our support by brewing a beer eponymously named People Power and proudly donating 10% of the purchase price of that beer to the ACLU.
In solidarity with this project, The Green Growler, too, will donate 10% of our profits from this evening’s sales to the ACLU.
We intend to have a selection of People Power beers by a variety of brewers on hand for consumption & purchase; stay tuned for more details!
In addition, Pat Fondiller of Alewife Brewing, an OG fixture on the NYC craft beer scene and beyond, will be bringing a selection of Alewife brews and spinning tunes for this beer party!
